Match report

FRANCE U18 v AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLBOYS

The Australian Schoolboys completed their European tour with a convincing 4-40 victory against France U18 in Toulouse. The bigger and stronger tourists leapt out to a 0-24 halftime lead to put the game beyond doubt.

Centre Latrell Mitchell was the stand-out performer for the Australians in a dominant team performance, scoring four tries, a conversion and setting up Braden Robson's score. Five-eighth Troy Dargan kicked a perfect five from five before being squad rotation relieved him of the kicking duties. The Schoolboys played the majority of the second half with 12 men after Tyrell Fuiamaono was sent off for punching on 55 minutes.

France's sole score, from Artur Romano, one of eight Catalan Dragons academy players in the squad, came after well worked piece of handling across the width of the pitch, but Australia had the last word when their excellent full-back Connor Cox stepped inside the defence to score under the posts.
